Our Board-Certified Internal Medicine providers are available to provide quality medical care to adults of all ages.
With a focus on comprehensive patient care, we offer a spectrum of services including outpatient, hospitalization, nursing home and hospice care. We are a dedicated Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) and participate in the Comprehensive Primary Care Plus (CPC+) initiative.

Meet the Doctors
Abdul Kabir, MD
Abdul Kabir, MD
Dr Kabir attended both primary and secondary schools in Karachi, Pakistan. After graduating from Sindh Medical College in 1990, he moved to Chicago to complete his residency at Weiss Memorial University and opted to continue to work on the Chicago area for the next three years. In 1998, Dr Kabir and his family decided to make the move to Monroe, Michigan to work in private practice until he assumed leadership of the office with the retirement of Dr Middleton.
Dr Kabir is board-certified in Internal Medicine as well as Hospice and Palliative Care. He has served as director of the Monroe County Hospice program for the past 15 years, initially under Mercy Healthcare and now under the Promedica Health system.
Dr Kabir and his wife, Humaira, are the parents of four children and when out-of-the office, can be found on the golf course or swimming laps in the pool.
Kristi Simmons, MS PA-C
Kristi Simmons, MS PA-C
Kristi Simmons attended primary school in Reading, Michigan. She completed her Bachelor’s of Science in Sports Medicine at Eastern Michigan University in 2001 and decided to move with her son to the Monroe area. Kristi earned her Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2005 from Wayne State University and opted to join the practice of Abdul Kabir, MD in 2007.
Kristi is the mother of three children and when out-of-the office, can be found on the sidelines of her children’s sporting events or travelling to new and fun destinations.
Jessica Miller, LPN
Jessica Miller, LPN
Jessica Miller attended primary school in L’Anse, Michigan. She moved to Monroe in 1998 where she attended Monroe County Community College and received her Associate’s in Applied Science with a license in Practical Nursing. Jessica opted to join the practice of Abdul Kabir, MD in 2017 and works as a Care Manager.
Jessica has a blended family of four children and when out-of-the office, can be found on the sidelines of her children’s sporting events or at her farm tending to her goats and chickens.
